The American Nurses Association Political Action Committee (ANA-PAC), elected new officers at its July meeting in Silver Spring, MD. The ANA-PAC works to raise funds from ANA members and supports candidates for federal office who have demonstrated their belief in ANA’s legislative agenda. ANA-PAC Officers are elected to serve a one-year term. The new board will establish the presidential endorsement task force and has set a goal of raising one million dollars for the 2011-12 election cycle.
The ANA-PAC elects five PAC Trustees—Linda Easterly, Debbie Dawson Hatmaker, Sallie Eissler, Sara McCumber and Sylvia Weber –all bringing many years of fundraising knowledge and expertise to their positions.
The ANA-PAC Board of Trustees will elect five new members in June 2011. The term of office for members of the ANA-PAC Board of Trustees elected during this time frame begins on July 1, 2011 and runs until June 30, 2013. ANA members only have until FRIDAY, May 6th, 2011 to submit their applications. Don’t delay, apply today!

ANA-PAC is a critical part of ANA’s success and strength on Capitol Hill. With over 80 new members of Congress elected in November, ANA-PAC is working hard to educate these Members, as well as returning legislators, about the importance of nursing and our issues.
