ANA-PAC Hosts Successful Fundraising Events at the 2010 House of Delegates

Over 300 nurses attended ANA-PAC fundraising events during the House of Delegates in June. Once again, one of the places to be was ANA-PAC’s Luxury Relaxation Hospitality Suite. ANA-PAC Platinum level donors were pampered and treated to refreshments, hand, foot and back massages.

After an exhilarating day of Hill visits to meet with their members of Congress and a rousing speech by President Barack Obama, Platinum level donors were given an exclusive opportunity to attend a private reception the next evening with key members of Congress.  A general Congressional Reception for Platinum and Silver level donors that was attended by 18 Republican and Democratic members of both the House and Senate, provided PAC donors a wonderful opportunity to talk politics and share nursing concerns.

ANA-PAC capped off its events with a highly informative political briefing breakfast with speakers from the National Republican Congressional Committee and Democratic Campaign Congressional Committee who spoke about key races and issues that their candidates face in the 2010 general elections. Donors were given an opportunity to ask questions about races of importance in their states.

ANA-PAC and its complementary political education programs are key to ANA’s legislative success in the U.S. Congress.  A total of $36,659 was raised at the 2010 House of Delegates to support Congressional candidates running for office who will advocate for nurses on the Hill. For more information about ANA-PAC, please contact Angela Song at Angela.Song@ana.org or go to www.ananursepac.org.
